Entrusted with the initial phases of sales, she successfully launched the offering by strategically positioning the property’s unique location just north of Central Park. Drawing on her deep understanding of the neighborhood’s cultural and economic value from the presence of The Africa Center and Museum Mile institutions to immediate park access and seamless connectivity to both East and West Side transportation corridors, she framed the development as an opportunity to own within one of Manhattan’s most culturally rich and accessible enclaves.

Central to her success was her ability to foster stability within an occupied building undergoing transition. Tasked with selling a partially rent-stabilized prewar building transitioning into condominium ownership, she crafted a strategic narrative that instilled market confidence and enabled the sale of multiple units in pre-renovation and active construction stages at record prices for the submarket.
Drawing on her deep knowledge of Harlem’s history, buyer psychology, and neighborhood temperament, Makeba provided reassurance to purchasers unfamiliar with the area and skeptical of the asset’s age and status.
